Your Sales Associate's license must be active for 6 months (during a 5-year period) and you have to pass the Sales Associate's Post-License course to qualify for registration of the Broker's class. There are two ways to submit your application to the state of Florida. The quickest way would be to complete your application online at www.myflorida.com (you still must follow up in the mail with your fingerprint card and notarized affidavit). Completing the application online will take approximately 4 weeks for approval. You can also print an application at www.myflorida.com and mail your application in with the application fee. When you submit your application by mail, it will take up to 6 weeks to receive an approval from FREC.
The closest location to our school is off of International Drive in Orlando, FL. However, there are several locations in and around the Florida metropolitan area. You choose the location and the date and time you wish to take the exam after your application is approved. The state exam is given 6 days a week.
The state exam is 100 questions multiple choice, and you are given 3 ½ hours to complete the test.
If you take the test on the touch screen computer, you will be notified that day. If you take the paper test it could take up to 3 weeks for you to receive your grade, and you will be notified by mail.
This license will allow you to participate in selling and listing residential, commercial and industrial property, vacant land, timeshares, rent and manage real property as long as you have your license placed under the supervision of a licensed real estate broker or an owner/developer.
